Periphery

Periphery is my personal Debian/Ubuntu Repository.  This repository will contain custom (meta)packages for myself and others, and is signed with a PGP key for a little extra security.  I am taking great care to make sure that everything is compatible with both Debian and Ubuntu.

The Periphery Repository only has one distribution, Smyrno, with a single component, Main.  Only Smyrno exists as of right now, because this is more of a personal repository, but anyone can use it if they can benefit from my tinkerings.  The name is one of the planets in Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series of books.

To add the Periphery to your system, use the following APT line (you can add it by modifying sources.list, or through Software Sources):

deb http://repo.trevorsacks.com/ smyrno main

You can browse the Periphery at http://repo.trevorsacks.com.  You can get a copy of the ASCII armored public key, ready for import, by going to http://repo.trevorsacks.com/periphery.asc

    Hi,

Thank you! I was quite disappointed to see that netbook-launcher has been abandonned…

Do you have packages for the EFL version too?

Thank you, and you’re quite welcome! :D

Unfortunately, I had too many problems getting the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries installed on my netbook to try to compile them. I may attempt it again in a virtual sometime if I can get them to behave.

I’ve been using this copy of the old netbook-launcher almost daily on said netbook for a while now. I’m fairly satisfied with the performance, but there are some issues with items with long names.
